Q1. What is a Hearing Aid?
A: As the name suggests, a hearing aid is a device that helps users hear better and more clearly. With adjustments made by hearing specialists, the hearing aid amplifies sounds to a level that allows the user to hear clearly.
Q2. My Grandpa’s Hearing Aid is Very Loud and Noisy. Are All Hearing Aids Like That?

A:
Currently, hearing aids on the market are mainly divided into two types:

  1. Digital Hearing Aids – These advanced devices incorporate high-end sound processing technologies such as noise reduction, echo suppression, and enhanced music listening experience. With a hearing test, an audiologist can customize the settings using a computer to provide the clearest and most comfortable sound experience for each user. Digital hearing aids are the mainstream choice today, offering high-quality sound and high user satisfaction. However, they are more expensive and are mainly sold by hearing aid companies, requiring a comprehensive hearing evaluation for proper fitting.

  2. Personal Sound Amplifiers (PSAPs) – These function like amplifiers, simply increasing volume without precise adjustments for individual hearing needs. Since PSAPs cannot be fine-tuned, users may find the sound too loud or noisy, leading to discomfort and poor listening experiences. These devices are generally cheaper and can be found in pharmacies, online stores, and some hearing aid retailers.

Q3. I've Been Having Trouble Hearing Clearly Lately. How Do I Decide If I Need a Hearing Aid?

A:

  1. Step 1: Visit an ENT specialist at a medical institution or a hearing aid provider to assess your current hearing condition and check for any outer or middle ear diseases.

  2. Step 2: Evaluate whether hearing difficulties are affecting your daily life, work, or interactions with family, leading to fatigue or a lower quality of life. If you are experiencing these challenges, visit a hearing aid providerfor a trial session, learn about different hearing aids, and consider using one to improve your hearing and enhance your quality of life.

Q4. How Long Can a Hearing Aid Last?
A:
The average lifespan of a hearing aid is 3 to 5 years, depending on user habits and environmental factors. Exposure to humidity or frequent drops may shorten its lifespan.

Q1. How to Clean and Maintain the Humidifier Bottle?
A: You can clean the humidifier bottle separately using detergent and warm water. After disassembling the bottle, soak the parts in the solution for 30 minutes, then wipe them dry before reassembling.
Q2. How to Clean and Maintain the Machine's Outer Casing?
A: Once or twice a month, ensure the power is turned off, then use a clean, soft damp cloth with a small amount of detergent to wipe the exterior of the machine. Finally, wipe it dry with a dry towel.
Q3. How to Clean and Maintain the Air Inlet Filter?
A: Remove the air inlet filter from the back of the machine casing. Wash it with detergent, then rinse thoroughly with clean water. After removing excess water, let it air dry naturally. Once completely dry, reinstall it for continued use.

Do not reinstall the filter if it is still damp. Cleaning the air inlet filter is an essential part of regular oxygen concentrator maintenance, and it is recommended to clean it at least twice a month.

Q4. How Much Should I Set the Oxygen Flow Rate?

A: Since oxygen therapy should be administered under a doctor's recommendation, please consult your physician for the appropriate flow rate.

(Note: The OC503/OC505 oxygen concentrator has a maximum flow rate of 5 liters per minute.)

Q5. What Type of Water Should I Use in the Humidifier Bottle?
A: Please use drinking water or distilled water with a temperature below 40°C (104°F).
Q6. What Should I Do If There Are Water Droplets in the Nasal Cannula?

A: There are two possible causes for this issue:

  1. Overfilled humidifier bottle – If the water level exceeds the recommended maximum line, water may enter the nasal cannula.
  2. Condensation from prolonged use – Water vapor can condense inside the nasal cannula over time.

Recommended solutions: Reduce the water level in the humidifier bottle, ensuring it does not exceed the maximum water level line. Additionally, replace the nasal cannula and let the one with water droplets air dry before reuse.
